Are There Differences Between Human and Animal Dewormers?
Yes, and this is where missteps happen. The active ingredients often overlap — fenbendazole, ivermectin, and praziquantel appear in both human and veterinary products — but formulations, doses, and labeled uses are species-specific.
For example, praziquantel dog dewormer tablets contain 34 mg of the drug and are labeled to remove Dipylidium caninum and Taenia pisiformis from dogs and puppies.
