Step 4: Make a simple bending form
On plywood, draw the arch curve you want. A gentle curve feels open and looks good from more angles.
Screw short blocks along the line to create a fence the slats can press against. Leave room for clamps.

Cut thin slats a bit long. Dry-bend one around the form. If it wants to crack, switch to thinner strips.

Planting and training without a mess
Plant on both sides so growth fills evenly. Leave space between the plant crown and the post so stems don’t rub on hardware.

My side panels feel flimsy
Add a diagonal brace on each side panel, running from low on one post to higher on the other. One brace can change the feel fast.
