Connecting USB speakers to a computer is one of the simplest upgrades you can make to your desk setup. The good news: on Windows, Mac, and even Linux, the process takes under a minute. The fix for “no sound” is almost always one setting deep in the operating system, not a hardware problem.

Connecting USB Speakers on Windows 11

Windows 11 handles USB speakers through a plug-and-play process. Dell’s support guidance confirms the system can automatically install required drivers when your computer has an active internet connection.

1. Plug the speaker’s USB cable into an open USB port on your computer.
2. If your speakers have a separate power adapter or a power switch, turn them on now. Wait a few seconds while Windows detects the device.
