A dry-running pump is the fastest way to destroy a water feature; running it without water covering the intake damages the seals and the motor. Finish: Cover, Trim, And Adjust
Once the flow looks right, cover the reservoir’s lid or top with decorative pebbles or stone chippings. Lay them loosely so you can lift them to service the pump later. Walk the perimeter and check that no cord is pinched or strained.
